O.G. sparring partners Lurka & Batu step up for a third instalment of flexible rhythm workouts served up on high-quality wax via Lurka’s no-nonsense Fringe White imprint, this time with Bambounou on remix duties for the flipside.

The first two discs on the label provided some of the tightest spins on Uk house, techno & abstract soundsystem styles we’ve heard for some time, still sounding more than fresh even a couple of years on *wink wink, they’ve been repressed too* and this third in the series of collaborations between Bristol’s very own Lurka and Batu moves & swerves, or shall we say ‘curves’ around conventions of dance music production. ‘Curved’ keeps moving and shifting sounds and rhythmical details around it’s own axis, coupled with a big & bad bassline to anchor the fluidity of its counterparts, this is proper brain & body music while still providing a highly DJ-able platter which will be a hell of a lot of fun in the mix.

Flip the record, and we find Bambounou twisting up the original version very nicely with his ‘Hyper Street Remix’ – The bassline takes care of the ground, whilst wickedly hi-freq percussive elements occupy the ether, and a proper shoulder-rollin’ hi hat shuffle whirls around at double pace – a combination that is set correct for providing us with a fine dose of endorphins when played at the correct volume (loud).

Both sides, tight AF!
