Brassfoot steams through DJ Haus’ UTTU label with four lo-fi and dancehall ready traxx in his trademark ruff and ready style.
The opener, ‘Bass Deco’ is our favourite here, a confusing yet intoxicating blend of mid 00s minimal techno and much more recent scuffed house excursions, very DJ friendly and totally captivating – it’s worth the price of admission for this one alone.
The A2 is more acid leaning, sludgy gear that is peppered with creaking metallics and more than it’s fair share of bass to get the subs thumping. It’s a different story altogether on the flip though – re-tooling classic disco sonics into new shapes with ‘After Darkness’, chock full of bongo loops and promising to get dancing shoes moving. Closing with the Pulp Fiction sampling ‘We Made It Out The Hood Ma’ this is a record thats a hell of a lot of fun in the mix.
