Wicked tune from Dennis Brown, originally out in 1978 on his Visions LP, and backed with the great ‘Jubilation Dub’ which features on the African Dub Joe Gibbs LP –

Now finally served up on a 7″ cut, with the vocal on top – and the dub on the flip.
The vocal is great, as you’d expect from D. Brown – top delivery, and a conscious message about repatriation to Africa, and keeping in touch with your roots.
On the flip, the rhythm comes out to play – Sly Dunbar on drums, with some of his signature steppin’ roots style (reminds us of those cuts on that Sly & Robbie ‘Hard Core Dub’ LP), and the way the dub is mixed is absolutely perfect. The intro is already 10/10, and then those radiophonic siren shots, and the perfect drops of vocal, synths, keys and guitar – what a ride!

Served up in Joe Gibbs 7″ house bag, lookin’ nice, sounding even better.
