Don’t DJ – Ka Dants

Vinyl (12" / 33rpm)
Diskant [DISKANT 008]

Polyrhythmic madness, served in a fresh looking sleeve –

Florian Meyer (one half of the Durian Brothers) steps up again, as ‘Don’t DJ’, on the brilliant Diskant label.

Each of the four cuts moves intricately, purely percussive apart from the  occasional overdriven feedback signal, metallic warning shots and strong currents of low-frequency underlining the rhythmic fury.

With the senses on high-alert, these tracks will command your attention in an almost psychadelic, trance-like way… tribal, afro-latin informed structures make up these four highly original, fine tuned rhythm tracks.

Under currents of techno and similar western forms of dance music  are buried within the pattern – think Shangaan Electro meets Shackleton.

Seriously fresh stuff, ready to shake up a dancefloor – no doubt.

Served in a silk-screened, two sided gatefold, wrapped in a stickered plastic sleeve.
Designed by Lotte Meret Effinger, using compositional scores of the tracks on the vinyl.
