Dusk & Blackdown have long been advocates for the darker end of the UK dance spectrum and over the last couple of years, the Keysound label has really come into it’s own. Now boasting an enviable roster of up and comers who are making some crucial beats that take influence from the best the underground has to offer.

The ‘Back 2 Go FWD EP’ is 8 tracks (2 remixes and 6 originals) from the pair, exploring post Dubstep / Garage and Funky mutations.
The title track reminds us of some of the more recent Pinch productions, rolling and dark, crafty tools for the DJs and dancers alike. ‘Peng One Two ‘ is a real standout, Wiley sampling, jacking business.

The second disc features the excellent ‘The Steppenwolf’ from Keysound collaborator Epoch, Blackdown refixes the Wu Tang sampling original and twists it into a stepping UKG referencing track. ‘Wicked Vibes’ is remixed by Horsepower and is, as you would expect, the standout of the EP, worth it just for this track alone!

If this strain of dark side UK bass mutations is your bag then this EP is about as good as it gets!
