Here we have it –
that mighty, mighty linkup between veteran soundsystem annihilator The Bug, and the most elusive figure to appear out of the UK Garage continuum of the last decade, Burial.

We probably don’t need to introduce these artists to you, but for those who aren’t aware, The Bug has been supplying heavyweight abstractions that inhale and exhume the dankest of industrial dub & dancehall fumes,  supplying a slew of ruffneck 12″s, 7″s and LP’s continually since the 90’s.
He’s also known to pull an unexpected collaboration out of the bag, having collaborated with the likes of Justin Broadrick aka JK Flesh, Grouper, Earth, a host of MC’s and deejays such as Miss Red, Flowdan, Riko Dan, Warrior Queen, Burro Banton, and now this unexpected clashing of minds with Burial, of Hyperdub fame…

The two cuts ‘Fog’ & ‘Shrine’ were supposed to come out with no prior announcements, but as seems to be the case with these kind of things, the news got leaked and the word is now out.
This disc is the first 12″ on The Bug’s new Pressure label, the imprint born out of his Berlin-rooted Soundystem night, bringing the heaviest of sonics to an unsuspecting crowd on his own 10-scoop rig.

Now to the music…

We can only share the clip of the A side, but trust us, both cuts are as good, and more, as you wanted them to be when you heard about this collaboration.
Both the A & AA side couple The Bug’s signature overweight pressure with the tuneful, delicate & haunting ambience that made Burial shoot from the deepest of underground status into worldwide acclaim with his first two albums on Hyperdub.

It’s like the distant wash of a big dub soundsystem dance, circa 5am Brixton, with the sound travelling via London’s tube underground tunnels and reverberating in the underbelly of the city with it’s ominous, ghostly spheres.
