Making the rounds on dubplate for some time now, both these cuts are on a deadly tip, further crystallising Foamplate’s meteoric entry into the scene over the past year and a bit.
Tabula comes forth with that creeping bassline (hints of that classic Zomby – Spliff Dub bassline in there, which is by no means a bad thing) and classic DMZ-esque drums, filtered Tablas (hence the name?) which keep the rhythm gushing through that hazy mist of reverberation and resonance.
Deadly habit plunges at a lazier pace, building around a stripped drum pattern, dissonant melody and a dizzyingly simple LFO that sits just on the right side of fun.
White label styles on Plant Power, no big fuss here except for some real stinkin’ dubwise bassbin business, done well.
