Classic Gregory Isaacs piece from around ’76, served via his African Museum imprint –

The loving pauper, coming with a lyric against mindless violence in the community, over an uplfiting, disco-tinged roots rhythm.

Proper roots & culture music –
The vocal is great (it’s Gregory, c’mon) and the dub strides in very, very fine style, pretty much letting those wicked hi-hats scatter across plucked bass notes, the rest of the rhythm section and occasional shots of melody & Gregory’s voice – version done right.
