Death Is Not The End further their impressive archival series with a 12 track compilation of tracks from Horace Sprott. Best known for his mix of harmonica accompanied work, folk and blues songs he appears on all of these tracks without any instrumental backing.


Originally recorded over 7 sessions for Folkway records in 1954, ‘Ain’t This A Mean World’ cherry picks the best cuts and combines them, complete with snippets of conversation between the singer and field recordist Frederick Ramsey who was responsible for the ‘Music From The South’ series.

12 heartfelt tracks including classic blues standard ‘Smoked Like Lightning’, later to be made infamous by Howlin’ Wolf, as well as the standout ‘One Dollar Bill, Two Dollar bill’, two sides of listening drenched in melancholy. True blues music.
