Nine tracks of booty-shaking Trinidadian steel drum Funk and Disco from the 1970s, remastered and shining once more on 12"

John Gibbs, sorry Dr. John Gibbs is a bit of a legend in our books, growing up in Trinidad, playing the steel drums in his band the "Our boys steel band" entertaining tourists, winning competitions and even appearing in films,  he eventually left Trinidad for Jamaica to pursue a degree in Physics.

As his numerous talents became further recognised, he moved to the United States and forged an equally successful dual career in Science and Music. Once in the US he was committed to bringing the "Island Sound" he had grown up with and his beloved steel drums to the Pop mainstream, working with several composers and arrangers he recorded "The Unlimited Sound Of Steel Orchestra".

Unfettered Party music with a catchiness seldom heard is what's on offer here. Sultry Island Swing sits side by side with uber cool 70s New York Disco Funk, we urge you to put this on at any party and you are guaranteed to get everyone moving. Just listen to opener "Steel Funk" and try to sit still!

Grab a copy of this and see why it was a Billboard smash in the 70s, we are still wondering why it took them so long to reissue!
