1: Lee Perry & Diggory Kenrick - Chim Cherie Rock

2: Chim Cherie Rock (Version)

3: Addis Pablo - Chim Cheri (Melodica Cut)

4: Version (Still Knocking)

The big bad Chim Cherie rhythm – a ruff&tuff Upsetters classic with a nod to Billie Jean – gets a new lease of life on 10″ with new cuts featuring Diggory Kenrick, Addis Pablo & Martin Harrison –

Family Man on bass, Lee Perry on og production and on lyrics (lol), Diggory Kenrick on flute and on the mixing board, going deep and dangerous through the weird & wonderful corners of the Black Ark sound, with added wind and gusto from flute layers and Lee Perry vocal drops.

Flipside, and Addis Pablo, Augustus Pablo’s son gets to work on it once more with Melodica, going deep and spacey with it, whilst keeping the original roots rock sound alive. Martin Harrison on the mixing board for this one.

These four newer cuts are not as hardcore as the original Lee Perry cuts, and we’d still route for the og. cuts if we had to choose –
But if like us, you just can’t get enough of this wicked&bad rhythm and this particular ruff&tuff Upsetter style, then you should definitely bag this add-on 10″ too, so that version can play on, and on – just the way it should.
Big tunes.

Comes in a hand stamped sleeve from re-cycled card made from previous Pressure Sounds sleeves.
