1: Lloyd Robinson - It Deep

2: Lloyd Robinson & Brentford Disco Set - It Deep Pt.2

Absolutely storming, full of funk, early reggae from Lloyd on this Studio One killer –

LLoyd Robinson, active since the early Rocksteady / Ska days around the 60’s in Kingston, best known for his Cuss Cuss excursion on Harry J’s, comes on with plenty of soul for this ruff & tuff piece of reggae from the Brentford Disco Set.

Clement Dodd in the production hot-seat, ‘It Deep’ comes loaded up with that signature late 70’s snarling filtered moog style bass, often heard in Disco & Afro cuts from around that time, which sits fat-in-the-mix like Jabba The Hut, comfortably surrounded by slick & slender peers, such as that lush organ and the low-in-the-mix rhodes chops… Not forgetting Lloyd’s totally cool and restrained vocal attire for this jam.

This one is undeniably good, feel good music at it’s very best.
