Oooooph – Mark System back on Exit after his album near on 2 years ago.

Cuts from this EP have been knocking around on Souncloud, ripped from radio shows with requests for IDs, snippets on youtube and appearances on various mixes over the last 6 months or so have all meant this record was hotly anticipated.

Up top is the snarling reece bass of the title track ‘Break Glass’, contrasted by a totally disarming melodic breakdown before descending once more into the wormhole. ‘600k’ completes the side, rolling a woozy melody around a crisp break and weighty subs.

It’s no secret though, the B1 – ‘Obnox’ is the main event here – it could have been a single track on a single side and it’d have been worth your time – A masterclass in clipped, techy D&B. Immediately screw face inducing, it’s sheer rudeness just barely contained by Mr. System’s tidy production skills.

The last track is equally as good, and weird for that matter – a brilliantly unsettling reconfiguration of tried and tested D&B standards.
