Brand new “big flat disc” from the infamous Hierophant of Avonion Noise.

Matt has been a persistent stain upon the Bristol soniscape, casting a long shadow over the West Cuntry Zero-Audience-Underground roughly since his first pube emerged

Recording in a variety of guises (Team Brick, Fairhorns, Gnar Hest, Beak> etc.) he is a true anomaly even within the ranks of noiz-oddballz. All of these projects are essentially different tentacles of the same, greater Whole. Do not trust anyone who claims to comprehend this intensely personal, mythical universe he has spawned, it’s deeper than you could ever know.

Also be wary of anyone who claims context does not change music, they are deceitful. The story of how this record (barely even) made it into existence, undeniably makes it 4-5x cooler. Gather round children…

In short, Matt’s flat was burgled and laptop stolen containing the entirety of the recently completed project. The rozzers weren’t really in the mood to help (imagine that?!) so it fell upon our hero and his merrymen to retrieve it. Using some tracking app gubbins, they traced it back to a local residence, where they rocked up, knocked on the door and demanded it back. Begging all belief, the project-file was still open on the desktop, undisturbed. That’s a fucking Millennial fairy-tale if I ever heard one?!

The content is somewhat typical if you know Loveridge’s work: NOISE! DISTORTION! FEEDBACK! DISSONANCE! SKRAMZ! GREGORIAN CHANTS! WHISPERING! ARPEGGIOS! POP! TRAP! NU METAL! THE AKIRA OST!

BUT, it also bears his trademark obsessive focus on composition. Just beneath the surface of all that rambunctiousness is a wealth of harmony, counterpoint, dynamics, Pythagoras was a speng etcetera. He’s really thought about this shit, OK?

To my knowledge, he composes all his works via an idiosyncratic graphic score system, sidestepping the snore-inducing monotony of Hollywood-approved POWER-AMBIENT shills usually associated with the more “considered”, conceptual end of noise.

I’m not going to attempt to describe the songs, each and every one is a micro-epic of its own. Just let it be known that all-in-all this is one of the strongest statements to date from a man known for strong statements.
