Big, bashy riddims from Ossia, set off with a destroyer of a remix by Lurka, served up on heavyweight 12″ via Berceuse Heroique.

Ossia’s most upfront and pacey cut to date, Tumult is a gnarly ruckus of bruised percussion, taking in elements of Grime, Dancehall and ‘ardcore into a sonorous twist & grind for the dancefloor. Working around ruffed up shards of melody and discordant frequency, the redlined drum sound fights with the snares, settling only momentarily for the interuption of big-belly bassline & bleeps later on, serving as a full-frequency workout for any able rig.  ‘Tumult’ has been a secret weapon on dubplate for a good year or two now, closely guarded and kept pretty much strictly for the dance and off the radar, until now.

Flipside, bossman Lurka gives the original a proper re-work, with a thunderously heavyweight, electro-tinged remix. Slowing the pace a little, in favour of space & impact, Lurka drops deadly Dillinja-esque kicks right through the echo chamber, inducing earthquakes with each hit, unfolding metallic percussion executed in the style of Photek’s most potent phases.
We’ve heard this one do utter damage to the dancefloor, cut extra loud, this one is to be played with caution.

Ruffnek bizzness.
