Junglist 12″ on TTT –
Following on from his self titled EP released last year, Rezzett returns to The Trilogy Tapes with a coherent two track 12″, harking back at 90’s junglist soundscapes and stylistics.
Moody, atmospheric and authentic – Rezzett lays down the brilliant ‘Zootie’ on the topside, as scuzzy, warped and tape-saturated drum fills make their way through looming mist of low-end and overcast pads, laid out over a bed of siren licks and warning blasts, in O.G. style and fashion.
Flip it for a version of Zootie, the ‘Yavas Mix’, laying the atmospherics out on it’s bare bones, with decimated drum breaks leaking out through the layers, a righteous ambient piece in itself.
A refreshing and reminiscent piece on TTT, presented in tip-top manner –
Will Bankhead has really created something great here, it’s a stunning looking record, with great attention to detail when it comes to presentation… From ink-stamps to screenprinted inner sleeves and centre-labels, this records really looks and sounds just right.
One for the heads.
