RWDFWDMIX007 is here – Dis Fig at the controls!

It’s always a pleasure to present a new mix in our little cassette mix series, and and this time is no different.
Following on from Maral’s wicked & wild session for us, this time Berlin-via-New-York artist Dis Fig has blessed us with a very special mix – 90mins of depth charge through personal favourites that she says have been on heavy rotation on her home hi fi, especially around the time when this was recorded – at a quite intense period of lockdown earlier this year in Berlin, as things came to a near standstill and the time was rife for a more reflective, inward listening zone, and therefore creative output too.

The mix moves through a serious selection of choice picks – we can pick out a few (underground) classics here and there, but couldn’t tell you what most of it is, but trust us there are some absolute gems in here.
There’s even an as of yet unreleased piece by Dis Fig herself in this mix (tape’s worth the £ just to hear this one) – beautifully merged with a Yegoor Zebolov piece, diving past some Method Man and even bit of Smith & Mighty vs Kahn, for a bit of Bristol flavour.

We won’t say much more, but we would like to assure you that this mix has had a lot of repeat play here, and we think you’ll be flipping this one over again, and again too.

Big shouts to Dis Fig for making this mix for us –
And while you’re here, check out the rest of her stuff too if you’re not already familiar.
Dis Fig is a real badass with versatile style.

++ Her debut album ‘Purge’ is a huge favourite here —
P.S. We managed to get the very last handful of tape copies of this one from her just recently! Those’ll go up on our site very soon, along with some Dis Fig Tshirts, which got stranded in Bristol at the end of that tour she did along with Giant Swan, Rian Treanor and Ossia at the end of last year…
