<< RwdFwd Exclusive >>
Towards the end of last year, our good friends ‘Neek’ and ‘Josh’ put on an Exhibition called ‘Pop Pop Blasphemy’ inside Bristol’s ‘Exchange’ with a collection of their latest collaborative works –
Screenprints, Zines (the amazingly titled ‘Blind Mans Jazz Mag’) and a digital print were all presented here for one night only.
Available in very limited editions, most of these prints sold at the event, although DJ Neek luckily held a few back for us, and has finally brought them round to our studio (blame the UK’s high probability of rain for the big delay).
We are pleased to be able to offer a handful of each design to people outside of Bristol, only available from us.
Having first exhibited a selection of their work around 5 years ago (in the same building that houses the RwdFwd HQ actually) this exhibit was a long overdue return, but completely worth the wait.
Sam Barrett – also known as ‘Neek’ aka one half of Gorgon Sound and Bandulu bossman – and Joshua Hughes-Games – Screenprint don and creator of the infamous Bandulu sleeves – have developed their styles over the years, and their combination of painting, cut & paste and print-technique which playfully re-appropriates consumerist imagery, wonky cartoonism, pop art and soundboy burial is still as impactful as it was when we first got struck with a glimpse of it many years ago.
