Fresh in from across the brexit border, we got our hands on a bunch of copies of this next surf-dub gem from Répéter, last seen on Bokeh Versions, now pushing the boat out via Tropique Dangereux, with this first cassette excursion into deep, Blue Perfidia territory.

High grade rhythm-driven, bittersweet concoctions of live instrumentation and dub effects, the perfect haze after the earthy vibrations of Bad Twang. This one's a big trip, make delve in and check the info for context below.

On «Blue Perfidia», Répéter leaves behind the hot desert heat of «Bad Twang» and further refines his recipe of moody tremolo guitar licks, complex man/machine percussion patterns and a weighty dub-inspired bass foundation. While the surf guitar still sets the tone, it is augmented by collaborator Finna's trumpet, log drums, prepared turntables and defunct effects devices, providing a dangerous tropical escapist theme. From the urgency of «Your Ship Will Go Down» to the terrifying finale of Nippon-inspired «Drinking The Kool-Aid», there’s a narrative unfolding, where darkness will descend upon the jungle coastline.

All instruments by Répéter / Martin Yul Werner,
except trumpet on «Pier Pressure» by Finna / René va plus.

All songs written by Martin Yul Werner,
except «Drinking The Kool-Aid» co-written by 19hertz / Emanuel Jauk.

Recorded, arranged and mixed by Martin Yul Werner at Petri Aux in Graz, Austria.
Mastered by Bob Macc at Subvert Central Mastering in Suffolk, UK.
