Without a doubt the most comprehensive documentation of the Bristol dubstep scene ever put together. 26 tracks split across 2 CDs charting the earliest dubstep movements to come out of the west country. The earliest track featured is the 2002 cut ‘B-Line Fi Blow’ by Smith & Mighty, a killer cut of breakbeat garage that pre-empted the dubstep sound by a few years, closely followed by ‘Tense Past’, the fourth release on Punch Drunk and one that was made while Gatekeeper was still a collaborative affair.

There are a large number of lesser known tracks too explore on here as well as the scene defining classics like Qawwali and Roll With The Punches. The Bristol scene has always been known for the variety of sounds it incorporates and this is reflected here in the dub wise leanings of RSD through to the wobble defining 3Kout by Jakes and then onto the technicolour dreamscapes of Joker and Hyetal and our personal favourites, the techno/dubstep crossover tracks.

All the tracks on here have stood the test of time, a crucial document that deserves 2 hours of your time to absorb, be it for the first time or to reminisce.

Sleevenotes by Gutterbreakz AKA Ekoplekz and 12 page booklet of iconic photographs of the legendary Dubloaded night taken by Tape-Echo included.

Gatekeeer - Tense Past
