A 1996 Ariwa classic - the one&only Jah Shaka alongside Mad Professor in the studio, in deep, stepping nyabinghi dubwise mode

Recorded around 12ish years (one decade... a New Decade even!) after their first meeting on record in the early 80's, this one cements their relationship and kinship through deep, rootical dub - mixed with heart and soul, and plenty technique in Mad Professor's Ariwa Studios, alongside Shaka.
The two can certainly do this thing by themselves, but when they come together, there's always some kind of special vibe in the air. Shaka's deep rasta vibe seems to add focus and drive to Mad Professor's dub uber-skills, and also a kind of 'restraint' -don't worry, still plenty of that good madness going on thankfully!

Throughout the record, there's a kind of stepping nyabinghi / echo chamber sonics thing going on, and Drumtan Ward does a great job on percussion, keeping things rolling rhythmically throughout the LP while Eddie Brown holds down the basslines, and Sinclair Seales hits the drum kit in perfect steppin' roots style - perfect foundations for dizzying echo's and reverbs, dashed out like pepper onto your favourite food.

The o.g. copies are pricey - we're thankful for the repress!
