Fresh in the post from Krikor, we got some copies of this dubbed out free rhythm excursion from Krikor alongside Kukangendai. Jazzdub krautfreakz not adverse to sonic railway frenzies, get in line!

This one was sent to us along with that Adversary OST tape, the Dub Dynamic Forces tape, and a 'Dear Jodie alternate version' tape (which we can't put on the site yet due to a misprint - keep eyes peeled though) -

Mad tumbling rhythms and freejazz ruminations zig zag in a kind of tand motion on this one. Make sure to look left and right when you cross the railway! And don't be tempted to put a coin on the line before arrival, that is dangerous kids. It's far better to just sit back and let this compelling work wash over you, letting all the ghosts dance from within the railway circuit Kyoto to Osaka.

Btw, this is reminding us of that excellent Ann Eysermans LP we had in from Cortizona some time ago - also train-related, and equally depth charging.
I guess we do love a bit of train spotting after all! Great stuff.

You're wondering what we're talking about? Read on below.

"このレコードは、京都と大阪を結ぶ京阪、JR、阪急線の発車メロディー からインスピレーションを得ています。これらの音のモチーフは、まず 探求され、次に私たちの集合的記憶のプリズムを通して変容され、1時 間のライブパフォーマンスに結実しました。これは記憶の機能に関する 私の研究を延長するものです:私たちの記憶は現実に忠実なのか、それ とも個人的な物語に適応した再構築なのか?

This record draws inspiration from the railway jingles of the Keihan, JR, and Hankyu lines connecting Kyoto and Osaka. These sonic motifs, first explored and then transformed through the prism of our collective memory, culminated in a one-hour live performance. It extends my research on the function of memory: are our memories faithful to reality or reconstructions adapted to our personal narrative?"
