Big, big 12" from South African producer Mbulelo, mixing up Durban's Gqom sound with o.g. Detroit techno vibes - make sure you got the volume up for this one!

Fully vibey, fully hypnotic, highly infectious four track disc for the DJ's and dancers out there, served up via Hakuna Kulala, NyegeNyege's side project.
This one sees Mbuluelo, who released his first work 8 years ago, on a house music tip, and under the Xerophytic Soul moniker, moving on from a recent outing on Derrik May's Transmat label, to deliver this mean slice of Durban Poison for HK.

On the A Side, we have the stealthy, hypnotic funk of 'Play The Beat', and the restrained, fully effective drum moves of Kalibre - both the kind of tracks that really hit once you're lost in the nuances of the groove, once you let them play.
Flip it, and things get a little darker. (Hard to pick but...) perhaps our favourite cut is the B1, with Uranus letting a sleazy, slow detroit techno groove play out over narsty Optical & Ed Rush type bass snarl, with a subtle counter-rhythm percussive sound reminding us of the south african flavour in this warehouse mood. This one's deadly, once again - if you let it play, and really get lost in there.

Limited pressing of 400 units, stickered paper sleeve in poly outer.
