Tuffest, ruffest rhythms from the last days of the infamous Black Ark studio, before Mr Perry burned it down -

This record has been expensive and hard to find at various times, but thankfully is back in press again now, and served in a killlllerrrr sleeve.

This record, filled with some of the most raw versions to come out of the Black Ark studio, such as that cut to 'Lion A De Winner' - this is the kind of dub punk we love Lee Perry for... You can just imagine him causing a musical blaze on that mixing desk, firing off signals into the red and jamming hard in the studio, catching pure vibes.
Then there's a ghostly, spooked out dub to the wicked steppers of 'Open The Gate', a pounding, heavyweight roots tune with a thunderous vibe, only accentuated by that dreader-than-dread hornsline.

Then there's that Lacksley Castell vocal from 'Jah Love Is Sweeter' - What a tune!!! do go pick it up if you find a copy - which sends Lacksley's vocals off into the deepest depths of the echo chamber, and let's the rhythm play off in the coolest way possibly, full focus on those ever-rolling hi hats and that bubbling bass.

And then there's 'Guidance', which is said to have been a big Jah Shaka tune from the 80's onwards, sending off the dance in a nice, wholesome way.
....We could go on for a long time, this record is truly filled with gems.

Real natty dread JA roots music, this.
