Exceedingly good modern, vintage style roots and dancehall -

Following the beautiful Little John 7" that preceded this LP, Kalbata & Mixmonster bring forward their full album, packed with orginal productions, in vintage style and fashion, in Tel Aviv, Israel.

All vocals recorded in Kingston, Jamaica, featuring some of the greatest living legends Jamaican music - from Trinity, to Jah Thomas, to Prince Jazzbo and Major Mackerel... this is not a half-way attempt at an authentic captivation of jamaican soundsystem music... it's as close as it can get in this modern day and age.

From the lush slow-jam of Little John, to the rockin' and wild Jah Thomas and Trinity piece, through to the stepping 'Aim' with Tullo T on vocals, 'Congo Beat The Drum' is brilliantly varied in style, polished and produced to a high-standard, yet it never eases off on authenticity and vintage feel.

It's simply put, a superb effort to capture jamaican music, and an outstanding LP in it's own right.
