Mikey General on Stalag Riddim, 1985 -

Wicked mid 80's dancehall on Dub Irator 12", reissued from the Jah Life crew, via Brooklyn's Deeper Knowledge imprint.

Winston Riley's unstoppable Stalag riddim gets digitized for round one on this disc, 'Singer With The Flavor' comes loaded up with a big reverbed tom drum, typical for this era of New York style.
Mikey General makes it sound real easy whilst giving opponent selectors a hard time on the vocal cut, taking full attention until the dub makes it's entrance further into the disc....Bassline, guitar licks and those drum machine hits push up another gear on the brilliant dubwise cut.

Flip it for 'Walker John' - another heavy dancehall cut from around '84.
Great vocal cut, and great version.... The live bass really shines here, this is sure to sound good on a big system -
It's a high quality pressing too, so you can be sure it'll rumble the right way.

Killer 12" disc.
