'Bangers & Ash' is a vaguely conceptual project by the 'Styles upon Styles' label from NY, loosely themed on deeper, more experimental tracks contrasting their respective flipside of the vinyl with more dancefloor orientated music.

An great concept backed up with suitably unique and visually stunning presentation.
The inaugural 12" presents the debut release of producer and interactive media designer tomlaan. Hailing from the Netherlands, tomlaan offers six differentiating songs spread across the disc...

The Ash side opens with “Weatherday”, a storm-drenched soundscape of three-dimensional grooves that echoes into the midnight flow of the second track, “Untitled.” “Want” whispers of marbled hideouts before the resonating catacombs of “Ding” collapses into itself to close out the A side.

On to the Bangers: “Cnip,” a frenzy of sandpaper percussion and toxic synthesizers coated in swelling sub-bass, and “Prehodni,” a DMZ-inspired lesson in half-step dynamics and wilting lullabies, demonstrate tomlaan’s versatility as a producer.

Released as a limited run of 200 hand numbered, multi-coloured 12” records, each with a unique paper marbled jacket designed by tomlaan and Since Today.
Download card included in the sleeve.

Very limited copies.
Great debut for tomlaan, but this record is already worth grabbing for the unique artwork alone!
