We got our hands on this seriously crucial piece - Antipode. As the title suggests, this zinebook is a document and an archive of bands from the punk / hardcore / DIY scene representing the SWANA region, an amazing collection of killer bands, each represented and highlighted with interviews, info, photos and imagery.

This independent, community funded (buy one of their tshirts!) zinebook does very well at making a crucial bridge, whilst highlighting cultural; political, as well as anti-colonial challenges that are a factor in the punk scenes originating 'outside ot the west' -

Packed with truly interesting stories from bands that channel punk culture from Palestine to Pakistan, and beyond, this zine is a joy to dive into and discover, and you get to expand your world view and knowledge by diving into a kind of network of worldwide underground culture, each individual struggles but with a relatable message for freedom, independence and rebellion against the state, and its tentacles of hate.

What we get is a step towards crushing borders, whilst shining a light and exposing darkness too - essentially breaking up shadows and raising voices... Voices with lots to say, reasons to rebel and challenging a status quo - wether that is the struggle within a counter cultural context, political struggle and regional factors, or simply challenging the status quo of western hierarchy within the punk and DIY scene....

check this interview with Doğa Sultan, the brain behind Antipode, and if you want to support her work further, you can pre-order a wicked multi-band Antipode Tshirt here, to support the making of Volume 2, scheduled for later this year...

So yeah, believe us when we say.. This sh*ts legit! A crucial archive and an important document for you to dig in and dive into.

We have a handful of copies of this fkn excellent Antipode bookzine, picked up in Istanbul for us by our friend Yaprak, and handed to us directly bypassing the brexit border.
