Fresh on the heels of the Lotide Cassette release, Astro:Dynamics welcome Kevin Palmer a.k.a. Best Available Technology to join the stable.
Based in Portland, Oregon he has been making music using his array of second-hand samplers and FX for over two decades, with recent output via Opal Tapes and Further Records bringing his productions into new light.

"This is the first volume of a series entitled 'Excavated Tapes 1992-1999'.
Palmer has dug through his mass of old cassettes onto which he had recorded  various drum-machine jams and abstract audio explorations sitting up in his attic gathering dust, so he began a process of working his way through the audio and gradually filtering out the most interesting bits and pieces, recompiling them onto cassette for this project.

As a result, many of the tracks you will find on this release were created and improvised completely in the moment, and recorded direct onto cheap blank cassettes between the years of 1992 and 1999. At times with nothing more than the intention to sketch the outline of a new idea, or manipulate a sampled loop with a view to later chopping out sections, loading them up into the SP12, and reconstructing - in other cases the tracks are more fully formed, one of multiple different takes of a more considered compositions."

Fragile loops of feral shuffle and grubby, purposely  raw and analogue sample work are the order here.
Ever building suspense and release create a certain movement contained within the static as sustained layers of tape-loops add a depth, warmth and intensity simply not possible via digital means.

Includes free digital download code...But we highly recommend listening via cassette.
