EU Order info
Unfortunately, the UK is no longer part of the EU - This means that certain shipments sent to addresses there from us may be subject to tax and / or import duty - All orders sent from RWDWD are sent ‘DDU’ - That is, duty unpaid - any import tax and/or duty is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
If you would like to use our reserve function to group several orders into one large shipment, we can arrange for it to be sent tax and duty pre-paid so you don’t have to worry about it at a later date - Contact us for more information.
Oooph -
Another stunner of a tape-manifestation on the Do You Have Peace label, running a steady supply of gems out of Jabu HQ in Bedminster, Bristol since 2020 onwards....
This Bird Of Peace Orchestra release follows on chronologically from the latest Jabu album 'A Soft And Gatherable Star' but is perhaps more closely connected to Jabu's Boiling Wells Demo piece from a couple years back, in the way that it collects raw and direct moments from various sessions during hazy, cosy evenings with the instruments and mics plugged in, no polished studio fuss just heavy vibes.
This time along it's a broader Bristol family thing, with extended Jabu / young echo crew Intel Mercenary, Birthmark and Dj Dreamdate adding their flavours as part of the 'Bird Of Peace Orchestra' lineup alongside Jabu members A, Guest and Bogues.
Originally the Bird Of Peace Orchestra came through as a support act at a DYHP? night at Bristol's Cube Cinema, in support of Roger Robinson, but we're very glad to see/hear that the crew kept making music together and enjoying what came out of it.
The result is a collection of lush, teary-eyed, heartical jams that capture a smooth and easy feeling of mates being together in a room and letting the vibes flow, proper stress-free melancholy and dreamy, shoegazin' dubwise that makes you feel like the incense is lit and the lights are dimmed.. Meditative bliss but with enough bop to make you feel energized from it too. Quite simply, this is wickedly honest and raw, yet strictly high-grade stuff from a talented crew of musicians keeping that creative flow intact. Making art... effortlessly, as it should be.
"‘Through weary courage, love sustain, through unending courage, love, sustain’
Bird of Peace Orchestra started life as an ad-hoc house band for a Do You Have Peace? show supporting Roger Robinson at The Cube.
The record is made up of a series of one-take recordings, jams, and largely unedited in-the-room practice sessions, captured in the moment.
‘Summer never came I was outside in the bitter cold silver metal ice glitter gold
under street lights still young but I’m feeling old’
Lyrically the record consists of a mix of spoken confessionals, mantras, affirmations, and late night ballads.
Live guitar, synths and vocals were added as we sat around in a room listening for hours to 8 bar loops, while Intel Mercenary overlaid drum patterns on his workhorse MPC 2000XL. Influences blending to create a strange mix of bedroom soul, shoe gaze, folk and rap.
‘Ángel de mi guarda, dulce compañía. No me desampares, ni de noche ni de día’ "
