half-steppin dub techno depth charges from professors of the DNB scene - Calibre & DRS, down remix version alley with the Basic Channel / Hard Wax / Rhythm & Sound boss Mark Ernestus -

The A side 'Bad' sees those infallible Mark Ernestus type filter chords and reverberations go against a half-pace kick and steppin' hi hats, with DRS vocal fading out through mechanized delay & echo effects as the bassline rumbles below.
Flip it for the next cut 'Badder' and dive deeper into the warmth of that bassline, and those hollowed out percussive & vocal elements -
Pure perfection and skeletal dub re-iteration (and this could be it's only criticism), of a sound that has been refined & re-tuned over the course of a couple of decades, since that particular dub techno sound was pioneered (by the likes of Mark Ernestus no less) in the 90s - nice to hear this approach with a subtle touch of Calibre & DRS, even if a bit pointless in our eyes.

Still, the tunes are well nice to listen to, and they put the speakers to work in a very nice way - can't fault 'em for that!
