Iconic early electro-steppers and krautwave bangers from the lone ranger Conrad Schnitzler, originally out in 1980 and surviving the test of time with a rugged smile

Auf Dem Schwarzen Kanal, the title track, and of course Elektroklang (translating to Elektro Sound) are arguably the stand out bangers here, but it's all very solid stuff, hella funky and hella sludgy, like Giorgo Moroder meets Africa Bambataa in a haunted house, with Conrad conducting some kind of demented industrial orchestra of sounds.
It's mad to think that these were made in Germany at that time, but then if you listen closely, you can hear subtle hints of Can or Klaus Schulze, and of course the industrial and german new wave sounds which Conrad navigated in his own way, with a unique sense for free experimentation and a broad, brave palette of sounds.

Freak music at it's finest.
