Killer dubs from Phil Pratt and the Sunshot Band recorded at Channel One -

Phil Pratt is one of the lesser-known staples in reggae history.
The name behind countless rocksteady and reggae productions, working with artists such as U Roy, Horace Andy, Ken Boothe and many many more, he was also a close Studio One affiliate and the name behind the Sunshot, Faith and Terminal labels.

This album was recorded around 1979/80 at the legendary Channel One recording studio, Kingston.
With Sly Dunbar on rhythm section, Robbie Shakespeare on Bass, Bobby Kalphat on keys and Tommy McCook on horns, it's an all-star line-up and all the the ingredients for potent music are combined for this LP.

Said to be recorded and mixed at a time when Channel One studio had just acquired a new mixing desk - counted as the most advanced studios around the Island at that time - the dubs are mixed to a crisp and clean standard, yet the hard rhythm and bass sections punch real hard on this one, it's dub music at it's prime.

Titled after the Alfred Hitchcock movie of same name, 'Dial -M- For Murder' is a standout album that should certainly not be overlooked.... musically top.

And just take a look at that sleeve!

Killer.
