Absolute mammoth of a roots tune produced by Kingston's Jack Ruby / JA/UK's Coxsone and with poet / singer Fabian aka Fabienne Marinda on vocals -

Very hard to find at various points over the years, and very expensive and dear, this stunner is now available on 12" once again via Coxsone's Tribes Man label, who originally released the tune back then, here in the UK.

Some of you might know this one from Rob Smith aka RSD's excellent 'Prophecy', who sampled this cut and released it on a 10" which came out via the late, great Naoki E-Jima's DSZ record shop in Tokyo, which has now sadly closed. That one was a big Bristol dubstep tune around from the golden era of the late 00's.

A Californian poet that moved to Jamaica in the 70's, inspired by the reggae movement there - Fabienne (titled 'Fabian' on this release (very 'reggae') delivers an at once haunting, and mesmerising vocal on this cut. Instantly recognisable.

And that filtered, booming bassline is an absolute top vibration on a big sound. If you've ever heard this loud, you'll know what we mean. Instant vibes.
We didn't even mention the combination of the horns line and those sweet little guitar licks yet...

What a tune! A big classic.

On the flip, we have the version - naturally.

** Not the best pressing unfortunately, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better sounding copy on discogs or whatever - this is a pricey, rare tune.
And we'd argue that the vibe is still very much alive on this record, either way!
