Classic album from the legendary Hugh Mundell, recorded in 1978 when he was only 16 years old, alongside Augustus Pablo -

Tragically, Hugh Mundell was murdered in the year 1983, whilst sat in a car with Junior Reid.
Nonetheless, this album lives on, and the message for equality - with simple, but powerful lyrics such as 'I'm a member of the human race, don't judge me by the colour of my face - wether black, or white, let's all unite' on tracks such as the classic 'Let's All Unite' are sadly still relevant to this day.

Recorded with Leroy Sibbles and Robbie Shakespeare on bass, Carlton 'Santa' Smith and Jacob Miller on drums, Chinna on guitar, Augustus Pablo on keys, organ and strings alongside and Errol 'ET' Thompson on production, recorded in legendary Kingston locations Black Ark, Harry J's, Joe Gibbs and Channel One studios, with Augustus Pablo.

This is a seminal album, a great showcase of Hugh Mundell's signature, raw and haunting, yet sweet vocal style that has gained him so much respect since a young age.
Africa Must Be Free By 1983 should be in the collection of any righteous roots music lover, and any appreciator of good, heartfelt, honest music.

Served up via Augustus Pablo's 'Message' label - this is not one of those bootleg copies!
