Regular checkers of RwdFwd will know that we have a lot of respect for the Roots Radics Band, and of course respect is due to King Tubby, Scientist and the legendary Channel One studios.

Jah Thomas, the Deejay and producer who made big moves with his Midnight Rock imprint and later on also with the Nura label, is another name that deserves full recognition - from the late 70's right through to the beginnings of Dancehall - he was there.

As the sleeve notes tell -
'In the first few years of the 1980's Nkrumah Jah Thomas would record most of his music at Channel One utilising the musical skills of the incomparable Roots Radics Band. He would then take the tapes over to King Tubby's studio at Dromilly Avenue, and work on mixes and dubs at his legendary location. Sometimes Osbourne Ruddock himself would be behind the mixing desk and at others his latest protégé Scientist took control of the faders.'

This LP compiled for 'Roots Records' features non-stop big selection from these years, brings together some of the roughest and most upful cuts from this era - having previously been released on various formats such as the CD series 'The Lost Midnight Rock Dubs Chapters I, II and III'.

You can't go wrong with this one!
