Laksa - Draw For The

Sale

Regular price

Beneath’s Mistry label comes with another wicked platter for discerning dance floors.

Newcomer Laksa treats us to three cuts of lo-fi, darkside drum workouts, a real standout of the excellent Mistry catalog, and dare we say it, probably our favourite to date. ‘Draw For The’ opens with some dread echo chamber manipulation and sci-fi chatter reminiscent of ‘bleep sequence’ from Alex Coulton that kickstarted the label. Dropping into a bassline that’s cheekier than a Nandos. Gun finger bizzle this one.

“Baded’ on the B1. is a real highlight - working some jankey drums around simple yet deadly synths with a dark flavour, Laksa really impresses here by crafting something that sounds like a Theo and Loefah collab from 06 - yes, it really is that good.

Lastly, ‘Touch Down’ works sonar pings and effervescent hats around ice cold atmospheres while gliding a warped synth line around thunderous snare hits.
