Mudkid - Burning Bridges / Turn Out
This one is a little bit special! Mudkid returns to the excellent Greta Cottage Workshop label for this rather fancy looking 10” and what a treat it is.
The A Side, Burning Bridges, is just the kind of loopy goodness that gets us excited, a fully immersive trip of tape delayed metallics and a big and bad kick drum to propel things along, think Perlon meets Shackleton and a wonky delay unit…
The flip, ‘Turn Out’ is equally as tasty, if slightly more subdued, delayed keys swirling around crisp and uncompromising percussion and squarewaves, all done with an apparent ease that hides an abundance of skill…It ain’t easy getting loops just right and this is a killer example of minimalism hard at work.
The kind of gear that works a treat on the dance floor in the wee small hours, preferably with some good quality painkillers.
Fans of Radioslave, Villalobos, Shackleton and those kind of peeps, this is a bit of you.
Very highly recommended.
