The wait is over! Finally you can stop playing the awful quality rips on youtube and fully absorb the debut long player from Pearson Sound. Since losing the Ramadanman moniker (as well as a couple of other sly releases under aliases) he has continually explored the stripped back currents of drum machine jams, his album is no exception. At first listen you encounter 9, no nonsense trax, forwarding the Detroit box jam aesthetic that has informed his previous work for the likes of Swamp 81, killer in the dance, no question about it.

With repeated listens subtle details reveal themselves, crafty sampling and titling of ‘Crank Call’ and ‘Six Congas’ showing his wide range of influences from European techno pioneers to the depths of the sadly departed UK funky scene. Saving the best till last however, is the monster that has been beating out the Rinse FM airwaves for the last 12 months or so titled ‘Rubber Tree’. The wait is over - big Dave doesn’t disappoint.
