When the exxcelent PSST crew came to Bristol with their soundsystem (all the way from Brussels, Belgium) they popped into RWDFWD HQ, bought some records and gave us a handful of this mighty cool artefact they made...

A cassette called 'Ghost Files' which spawned out of an impromptu live recording they made whilst jamming/brainstorming/creating at a place called Beurscheuwburg in Brussels earlier this year - the recording was originally made for their website and database - psst.space/database - which collects the names of various 'women MaGe (people of gender identities and expressions) artists' on a document which was originally intended for internal use, but is now available to everyone - go check the link above ^^

'this database is a tool not only to connect with each other and strengthen our communities, but also to make this unity visible outside of our circles, answering once and for all to the mainstream scenes argument that we not 'numerous' or 'visible' enough'

Besides the obviously very important aspect of connecting, promoting and highlighting often underrepresented artists and cultural workers in a still rather 'male dominated' scene, this tape also manages to effortlessly sound absolutely cool as fxck.

Think Alvin Lucier sitting in a room between various dimensions, teleporting into a new world where gender norms and origin inequalities are past history, and where music just exists in a fluid, highly sound sensitive echo chamber of brain-tingling frequency, filled with important data that we inject into our brains subliminally, and also very, very enjoyably.

Or perhaps we're in the black lodge, where all the lame male macho djs have evaporated into dust particles and where this PSST tape plays in reverse, making sure their spell stays potent, keeping self serving and self important music industry spirits locked away in the ether. Laura Palmer is a DJ now, and Bob is forever in hell. Eliane Radique has eternal life and operates a spring box, at least when not carrying soundsystem boxes.

In short, this tape sounds like a twisted, but better reality, truly transporting frequencies for a better future.

The cassette design (incl mad printed shell) is looking tippa top too - shouts to challenger ghost.
