Now this is a special little something we found in our warehouse -

VHS recordings from the famous Skateland Arena as well as the famous Inner City's Saturday Nite Live Show based in Kingston, Jamaica circa 1985:

Both recordings feature many of the most iconic artists to have emerged from the Jamaican Reggae / Dancehall scene ever since the beginnings:
From U Roy to Barrington Levy, Supercat to Burro Banton, from Tenor Saw to Nicodemus through to Early B, these are just a few of the singers and deejays making live appearances on this recording.
All enriched by that analog video cassette quality, this disc features recordings straight from the dance hall (which was actually always outdoors) with the Deejays (nowadays referred to as MC's) bustling around the mic, taking control of the crowd on a hot evening in Kingston.

For people expecting a crisp and clean MTV style video, this is not the right place to look -
But for those wanting to own a piece of dancehall-history recorded onto a physical format, all from the golden era of the digital revolution:
1985 - the year of Sleng Teng and Tempo riddim, the era that saw reggae music explode and continue to inspire generations of music ever since -
This is it.

Part 2 of the DVD features a separate recording: some of the highlights from the Inner City Live Stage Show, with outstanding performances by U Roy, Barrington Levy, Early B, Leroy Smart, Micheal Palmer and many more - all backed by the Sagittarius Band.

Total run time: 2hours.

Presented in a cut and paste bootleg sleeve designed by the mysterious C26.
