BIG BIG BIG remix plate on Keysound!

It's hard to believe it's been near enough 18 months since Wen dropped his Debut album 'Signals' on Dusk & Blackdown's Keysound label. 'Play Your Corner ' was undoubtedly a highlight of the LP, signature Wen minimalism letting Riko Dan's vocals flick easily between normal and double time.  It wasn't going to be easy to find remixers that could do the original justice but Keysound haven't disappointed.

Walton is up first, since his 'Bulldozer' EP on Tectonic a couple of months ago we have been itching to hear more of his mechanized take on grime, the original strings are still there but are laid over a punishing 4/4 kick pattern, exploring mutant grime-techno spaces and offering a totally new direction for the original - very nicely done.

Bristol dons Kahn & Neek are in charge of the B-side here, and, as you would expect - it's incendiary. Opening with weightless keys and a hint of chopped and screwed vocal, it doesn't take long before it drops into a floor-burner with their trademark strings and snarling basses. It's not an all out assault though - the basses fall back and a crafty MPC-esque melody chop rises to the front - Kahn & Neek on top form here, exploring new dimension of their sound - don't miss!
